I Love Mondays!

Mondays… the day that the snooze button gets hit the most. The day that Starbucks sells the most coffee. The day that you stroll in late to work because you hit the snooze button and the line at Starbucks was out the door. For some extremely odd reason, I love Mondays. I have found that Mondays have typically been my most productive days in the office.

Below are a few reasons why I love Mondays:

1) The blessings of the weekend are fresh in my mind.

I usually find myself thinking about the great things that happened on Sunday at church. I recall decisions made by teenagers in teen church, revisit a conversation with a parent about their teen, and reread over Sunday PM notes from the message. Thinking about the blessings from Sunday help me to know where my focus should be on Monday-Saturday. I love Mondays!

2) The needs of the weekend are fresh in my mind.

My mind is on the young man that I spoke with yesterday who has serious home problems. It is on the father who does not know what to do about his struggling teen daughter. If I do not take Monday to analyze, plan, and prepare then many of those weekend moments will be lost in the chaos of the coming week. Thinking about the needs from Sunday help me to know where my focus should be on Monday-Saturday. I love Mondays!

3) My mind is fresh about what I need to do for the coming weekend.

Usually, by the time I go to sleep on Sunday night, I know what my sermon for the next Sunday will be. My mind is fresh about what truth the teens need in teen church on the coming Sunday. I know what changes need to be made for the music portion of the services. Thinking about the needs for Sunday help me to know where my focus should be on Monday-Saturday. I love Mondays!

We can look at Mondays as a curse to all those that live for the weekend or we can make Monday a day where we plan to make next weekend be the best that we can make it.

Happy Monday! Make the most out of it!
